Devotions, General Devotions

” Moving on from there, He entered their synagogue.  There He saw a man who had a paralyzed hand. And in order to accuse Him they asked Him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”

But He said to them, “What man among you, if he had a sheep[d] that fell into a pit on the Sabbath, wouldn’t take hold of it and lift it out?  A man is worth far more than a sheep, so it is lawful to do what is good on the Sabbath. “

“Then He told the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out, and it was restored, as good as the other.   But the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they might destroy Him.”  Matthew 12:9-14

Healing.  How we long for it.

Is your spirit in need of healing today?

Matthew 12 holds the account of the man with the who had a paralyzed hand.  His life was about to change, because this man was about to meet Jesus.

Jesus “told the man, ’Stretch out your hand.’  So he stretched it out, and it was restored, as good as the other.”

Jesus heals.  He does.

All healing comes from Him, but sometimes He requires something from us to bring the healing about.  He asked the man to stretch out his hand and the man did so and was healed.

Is there something you need to stretch out before the Lord to receive healing?

Bitterness?  Anger?  Unforgiveness?  Hurt?  Grief?  Your past mistakes?

Stretch out your brokenness toward His wholeness and let Him restore you.  Stretch it out, friends, and I’ll stretch mine out and let’s let Jesus heal our broken spirits today.

He is able.

Precious Jesus, heal our hearts, souls, minds and bodies today. Help us take the steps we need to move toward the healing only You can give. Thank You for being willing and able to heal us completely. Amen
