Four Kids’ Bible Study Lessons from Genesis

This four week kids’ Bible Study Series starts at the beginning–the very beginning. Each lesson stands by itself, as well, if you don’t have room in your schedule for all four weeks. The younger lessons are written with early elementary in mind 1-3 grades and the older kids’ lessons are written for kids in 4-6, but you could use whichever is better for your group. Also, these were written with a small group setting in mind (up to 12 kids), but they could be adjusted for a larger group without too much trouble.

Creation:

“In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth.” Genesis 1:1 This is such a vital fact for kids (and adults) to know. This lesson explores the days of Creation with kids and emphasizes that it was God who did the creating.

Cain and Abel

Cain and Abel, the first murder. The first “dysfunctional” family. These lessons teach kids about it in a way that is appropriate for their age level.

In the older kids’ lesson, kids are encouraged to dive into the account themselves and study it, with their teacher’s guidance. The younger kids’ lesson focuses on Cain letting his emotions explode (and has a cool object lesson)! Both lessons explore why it’s important to control our emotions before they control us.

Noah Lesson:

If your kids are like ours, they have probably heard the account of Noah and the Flood many times over. It is a challenge, sometimes, to try and keep the familiar from getting “old.” This lesson was our solution for that. It is mostly one big game the kids play and learn things about Noah, the Flood and the Ark. There is lots of scripture reading and a lot of laughter. Check it out and see if your kids like it as much as ours did.
